Growers Discover Next-Gen Lettuce and Brassica Varieties
Syngenta Vegetables Seeds hosted its 2026 demonstration days for leafy greens and brassicas at their experimental research farm in La Puebla, Murcia. The three-day event brought together growers, technicians, and industry professionals to explore the latest advances in plant genetics.
“In a context marked by extreme weather events and the constant evolution of market demands, producers require innovation, knowledge, and reliable solutions that are designed to help provide results from sowing to harvest, rather than just quality seeds,” said Diego Diaz, Brand and Customer Manager.
The early February event showcased varieties that can help growers succeed in various conditions and weather events. Notable varieties that captured attendee attention included:
- GAVILAN (Broccoli): Early production variety for fresh market and industry
- TORRES (Cauliflower): Known for head quality and optimal 110-120 day cycles
- VALERINA (Mini Romana): Focused on autumn transplant consistency
- YOANNINA (Romana): Notable for tip burn resistance
- ICE SPRINGO (Iceberg): Excelled in spring crops
- MIGUELITA: High-performing red oak leaf babyleaf variety
